Antique book "Illustrated Natural History" by Rev. J. G. Wood, copyright Measures inches tall, 55 inches wide. pages. Condition: Beautiful red green and black embossed cover and spine with gilding, owner label on cover interior, discoloration, a tear on one page (possibly a few more minor ones) chipping along first few pages against spine, pages are nice and clean. Picked up this book at a thrift store and has been super interesting to read a naturalists views from the s on BC's wilderness. Some of the author's environmental concerns about future degradation of land for industry has come true but in some respects we have had positive outcomes regarding protection/ rehabilitation of animal populations he thought were destined for extinction.5/5.
